Costume Quest 2 Review

in Reviews - October 24, 2014

Team 110 is getting ready for Halloween with Costume Quest 2’s candy collecting adventure, but it’s not all smooth sailing.

For starers Costume Quest 2 is a lot of fun. It’s a short role play game that continues the story of the first game with more spooky time-travelling antics and adorable new costumes that transform the child heroes into powerful warriors.

In the game you go house to house trick or treating for sweets. Right at the beginning one of the characters is kidnapped though, and you are soon off on a magical adventure to save your sibling from the evil grasp of Dorsilla.

It’s a mix of exploring the different neighbourhoods to power up your characters and set piece battles where you use your different outfits to trigger huge attacks. This can be quite hard as you need to time your button presses just right to do the most damage and survive.

You do have to do a lot of walking around to find everything you need to progress. Also after battles you need to go and heal your party at the fountain. Forget to do that and you’ll soon be restarting the chapter.

Costume Quest 2 looks great, with the cartoon style and comic book story telling working really well. Being able to time travel through portals adds an extra layer to puzzle elements and offers new fantastical costume designs. With twelve new costumes and creepy treat cards galore, there’s plenty of content to keep you entertained until Halloween arrives.

Costume Quest 2 will be available to download on PC (out now), Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.
